On the 27th April 2013 21 year old Type 1 diabetic and London 2012 Olympic Torchbearer Gavin Griffiths will be running from John O Groates to Lands End, he is running 30 miles a day for 30 days. This extreme challenge is for the charities Diabetes UK and JDRF UK, whilst aiming to promote the cause for DIABETES awareness.

RRO (Fire Safety) 2005 – name and shame
You might not know, but if the Fire & Rescue Service enforces a company through the Regulatory Reform Fire Safety Order 2005, they are required by law to post the details on their web site in the section entitled public register of notices under the Environment and Safety Information Act 1988.
Notices included on the register are:
Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005
- Alterations notices
- Enforcement notices
- Prohibition/Restriction notices
Health and safety at work, Act 1974
- Section 21 Improvement notice
- Section 22 Prohibition notice
Any visitor to the website can simply click on the borough tab on the right hand side of the page and quickly see the content of the notice including the full company name, property type date of notice and type of notice.
This is bad news for the owners as it brings a lot of bad PR. Currently there are over 1200 notices in place as of 28th Feb 2013, and one of these potentially dangerous sites could be near you!
