24/7/365 our team of highly qualified Fire Safety Systems engineers achieve a pre-planned maintenance regime in strict accordance with the British Standards ( BS 5839-1/ BS 5839-6/ BS 5306-3) , along with first time fix rate – every time, meaning that your life safety systems are never down or faulty. We carry an extensive range of parts spares and equipment on our fleet of vans and currently our 11 engineers operate the 24/7 call out system accompanied by an on-call Manager every day and night of the year so that should any problem arise it will be dealt with Professionally, Productively and Proficiently. With our dedicated Client Account Handlers and geographically assigned engineers, we plan all our work in advance not only to accommodate our clients’ needs but also to ensure that our Carbon footprint is continuously reduced and through effective and affordable planning we keep our costs down too.
Electrical Inspection Scheme
Our engineers can carry out all of your electrical testing and certification needs including In-service Inspection and Testing (PAT Testing) and Periodic Electrical Installation Condition Reports. In addition, Millwood Servicing also offers a combined inspection and asset collection called the ‘Electrical Inspection Scheme’. By using the latest iPad technology, our engineers can carry out an annual electrical condition report on your premises reporting on any items of concern or any safety issues with your installation. During this process every item of your electrical installation will be asset tagged with a unique bar-code and all relevant information on the piece of equipment logged. Emergency Callout Service
Millwood Servicing Ltd provides a 24/7 365 day a year – emergency call out facility to all their fire safety systems servicing contracted clients, and you can be sure that your call will be dealt with quickly and efficiently with one of our help-desk administrators within our opening hours. Out of office hours, your call is forwarded to one of our fully trained engineers who first attempt to diagnose the problem over the phone, instructing the user, if possible, to rectify the fault, and therefore not necessitating a call-out (resulting in an FOC service). If the fault cannot be rectified then we will attend the site within the designated time frame to attempt to fix the problem. We do not sub-contract out this service to another provider, the engineer you will talk to is a permanent member of Millwood Servicing Ltd’s trained engineering team. On specific sites, and with the correct equipment, we can dial in remotely to the fire alarm panel and diagnose the problem, and where possible fix, isolate, or temporarily rectify the problem.
Fire Alarm Servicing
All of the safety systems we service are in accordance with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, Article 17 and the relevant British Standards. We interpret this as the necessity to provide the correct planned preventative maintenance schedules for all life safety equipment within the premises, and as such take this servicing very seriously indeed.
Fire Door Maintenance
Maintaining a fire door is crucial in its ability to perform to its design integrity. These checks are necessary due to a variety of factors, from general wear and tear of the door and hardware caused by continual use, moisture absorption into the door and frame or the settlement of the surrounding structure which could effect distortion in a door set. All of these factors can impact on the integrity of the fire door and therefore reduce the effectiveness of the seals and the doors ability to maintain the fire compartment in which it serves. If you are responsible for fire safety or building maintenance you should have an arrangement in place to check your fire doors every 6 months, which is why Millwood Servicing provides regular fire door maintenance.
Hand-Held Fire Extinguisher
Fire extinguishers that are not maintained annually to the standard are no longer considered compliant. If the extinguisher is a dry powder or CO2 type, we offer our clients a service exchange unit which works out more economical than (in the case of the powder extinguisher) emptying and refilling (not practical on site) or a CO2 returning to the factory for a vacuum test and replacing the valve, as well as all makes of fire extinguisher to the latest version of BS 5306 Part 3.
Hose Reel Maintenance
With years of experience in the fire industry Millwood Servicing Ltd can ensure your fire hose reels are serviced and well maintained. Maintenance of hose reels includes visual checks for leaks and obvious damage and should be carried out regularly. Once a year the hose should be completely run out and subjected to operational water pressure to ensure that the hose is in good condition and that all the couplings are water tight. The hose itself needs to be either pressure tested or replaced every five years this thorough service ensures, that the hose reel will function properly as and when it may be needed.
Smoke Vent & Damper Servicing
Smoke ventilation systems are life saving systems and it is therefore essential that regular maintenance is carried out to the required standards by competent personnel who are familiar with the specification and strategy for the particular application. Millwood Servicing Ltd provides preventative maintenance visits to conform with the latest versions of BS 7346.1 1- & BS 5588:12 along with The Buildings Regulations Approved Document B indicating that where natural or powered, smoke and heat exhaust ventilation systems are concerned it is essential that they are serviced regularly and maintained in good working condition, as well as providing advice and alternative solutions to existing systems that require modification.
Wet/Dry Riser System Servicing
The test ensures that the dry riser systems are in satisfactory condition so that all equipment is ready for immediate use in accordance with the latest version of BS9990: Testing and inspection of dry risers shall be carried out every six months. The Testing Service Engineer should be accompanied on the premises by a responsible representative for the site, whilst carrying out a physical check of the dry rising mains. A certificate confirming the satisfactory performance of the installation will be issued by the Testing Service Engineer and sent directly to the client.
