The Olympics dates are as follows:
Main Olympics 27th July 2012 – 12th August 2012
Para Olympics 29th August 2012 – 9th September 2012
There will also be a week before the start on the main events and a week after the finish of the Para Olympics used for major road disruption to install the Olympic lanes.
We started working on the possible impacts the Olympics could have on us last year. We are re-scheduling planned service visits in the affected areas to end just
before the start and the next planned service to start just after the end of the Para Olympics.
We are also planning to have a location in central London to keep larger stock items to reduce the need for engineers to drive into the area if they are called out to sites during the games.
Call outs during the games is obviously something we can not control but we will be planning to keep engineers working in opposite sides of London to assist in
travel times and prevent crossing the central and east side.
On the weekend of 28/29th July 2012 the cycle road race is taking place. This will literally cut south London in half with no traffic movements travelling between. This route goes from Whitehall down to Box Hill. No scheduled work for this weekend will be planned. We will also have extra on call engineers either side of the route to ensure our call out response time will be kept to a minimum.
